ABOUT ME
I qualified
as a Counsellor in 1999 and as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in 2002. I am
also trained in Bereavement Counselling, and completed specialist
training at a Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre where I stayed on to work as
a volunteer Counsellor for a number of years. In 2005 I gained my MSc in
Counselling Studies. I studied CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) at
the University of Chester in 2006. While I work predominantly from my
Appleton address, I have also worked for over 8 years in Primary Care at
a local GP practice. For the most part, I use an eclectic style of
counselling, which means that I use whatever specialist skills are
appropriate in order to be of most benefit to my clients.
My work
is mainly with adults, although I have experience of working with young
people upward of 12 years of age, and have trained in youth matters
and child protection issues with the NSPCC.
