Some Commonly Asked Questions about Hypnosis
WHAT IF I DON’T WAKE UP?
It is not possible. If after putting someone into a hypnotic
trance the hypnotist were to suddenly drop dead, one of two
things will happen: You will immediately wake up or ‘shock
waken’ or you will fall into a normal sleep, and wake when you are
ready There is absolutely NO chance of anyone being ‘locked’ in
hypnosis forever.
CAN EVERYONE BE HYPNOTISED?
Almost everyone can be hypnotised - with the exception of young
children under the age of 5 and the severely mentally disturbed.
People do go into different depths of hypnosis, but hypnotherapy
can be of benefit to everyone.
WILL I BLURT OUT ALL MY PERSONAL SECRETS?
No, you will always be in full control of everything you say and
do. There is no question of being in the power of the
hypnotherapist and made to do things you don’t want to do.

WILL I ACTUALLY
BE ASLEEP?
Although the word
‘sleep’ is frequently used in hypnosis, you will neither be
asleep nor wide awake – but somewhere in the middle. You will be
in a state in which all your natural senses will be around 30%
more efficient that usual. You will be FULLY AWARE of
what is going on at ALL times.
WILL I REMEMBER
EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS?
Like attending any
other form of presentation or talk, you will remember the
majority of what happens during the hypnotic session.
WHEN IN HYPNOSIS,
WILL I DO THINGS AGAINST MY WILL?
Certainly NOT - a
person in hypnosis is in TOTAL CONTROL of the situation
at all times.
ARE THERE ANY
SIDE AFFECTS?
There are no unwanted side affects from
hypnotherapy. It is a natural and safe process and you will
return to full consciousness, feeling relaxed and confident.
