What is HYPNOTHERAPY?
Hypnotherapy is hypnosis used in a therapeutic way.
Hypnosis is
safe, natural, non-magical, and produces very predictable
results. It can improve your quality of life and help you
achieve your goals. It is used to overcome all kinds of
conditions. During hypnosis you will enter a state of deep
relaxation during which you will be aware of, and remember,
everything that is said to you – you always remain in control.
In
order to allay some of the fears and misconceptions about
hypnosis, it is important to stress that what takes place under
hypnosis is safe, natural, non-magical, and produces very
predictable results. There is absolutely no question of being
controlled or manipulated, or even induced into a hypnotic state
against your will.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The
hypnotherapist simply
facilitates the hypnotic process by using |
techniques to help you into self-hypnosis to bring about a positive change. You cannot
be hypnotised against your will – your cooperation is required
at all times.
WHY DOES HYPNOSIS WORK?
The answer in one word is
suggestion. We know that the mind is open to receiving
suggestions. We know that suggestion has made us who and what we
are. We also know that suggestion can change us for good or
evil.
When we are born, we all have
a blank mind and a brain like a sponge. We have no experience.
Apart from the fear of falling and a fear of loud noises, babies
are virtually free of all fear. Apart from food, babies have no
desires, or compulsions or phobias.
